Sharnee Thorpe is a textile designer drawn to the wild elements of nature, mystical tales of enchantment and a nomadic bohemian lifestyle.

Growing up in a Northern NSW surfing family, Sharnee was constantly surrounded by art, music, nature and the beach culture most Australians know and love. This is where her desire to engage in the creative world began.

With a penchant for travel Sharnee’s aesthetic is a clashing of influences, rich in texture and bold patterns with a tendency toward D.I.Y, ethnic and florals.

Sharnee has an industry leading skill set and has furthered her career working and travelling abroad as both a full time and freelance textile designer. Melbourne, Sydney, LA and Northern NSW have all played home over the years.

Sharnee’s design process begins with an entangled mix of pencil drawings, ink lines, photography and painterly textures taking inspiration from her travels, favourite blogs and the world around her. She then explores seasonal colours and trends and combines these with hand-generated artwork and computer-aided designs.  This enables the development of creative original pattern lengths and placement prints. She has extensive experience of screen and digital printing techniques and is highly skilled with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.

Sharnee has worked with high end, boutique's, and commercial label's designing prints for every season, from fashion, swimwear, kids clothing, men's party shirts, beach umbrellas, bed linen to wedding invitations, the list is endless. Her prints have been showcased on catwalks and in magazines including Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire.

Sharnee’s excitement for life and passion for textile design grows more intense with each new achievement.
